Regional leaders have announced a new cooperation framework designed to strengthen trade, digital connectivity and climate resilience across Asia. The initiative places small businesses, cross-border infrastructure and responsible technology at the centre of its five-year agenda.

Officials said the framework will support faster customs procedures, shared research programmes and new investment channels for emerging industries. Independent analysts welcomed the emphasis on practical regional coordination while calling for transparent targets and regular public reporting.

The first implementation meetings are expected to begin later this year, with working groups focusing on transport, clean energy, skills development and digital standards.
